American TV bosses have been wooing Eddie Izzard since he won two Emmys for his one-man show Dress To Kill this summer.

But he has turned down all offers of sitcoms and game shows, telling them "I don¹t want to do television."

Izzard also said that his cross-dressing worried Hollywood bigwigs.

He told Ruby Wax's BBC2 talk show: "All the agents said: 'Should we sign this guy? He's still a transvestite.'"
