TV presenter Trisha Goddard says she has been given the all-clear in her battle against breast cancer. The chat show host was diagnosed with the cancer last April, following a routine mammogram. She immediately put her working life on hold to concentrate on recovery. Now, she says, after traditional treatment including chemotherapy and radiotherapy, as well as her own exercise regime, the cancer is gone. The TV host believes that running during the treatment helped her cope. "I would do a 20 to 40-minute run and run into the radiotherapy department... a week after my last radiotherapy I went mountain running in the States." Trisha believes that exercise has been a help to her because "it lifts the mood and lessens the effects of chemo". She wants to encourage health professionals to broaden their approach and to encourage patients to try exercise while they are undergoing treatment.
