A 36-year-old factory worker has appeared in court charged with the murder of a transsexual man whose body was found wrapped in chains on a beach. Charles Halfacree, of Chelmsford, Essex, appeared before magistrates in Lowestoft, Suffolk, accused of killing 28-year-old Bryan Hooley. Halfacree, who is single, was remanded in custody until September 11. Mr Hooley's naked body was found on a beach at Kessingland, Suffolk, in March. Post mortem tests showed that he had died of a head injury. He had last been seen at his home in Roxwell, Essex, a few days earlier. A 38-year-old woman from the Chelmsford area has been released on police bail without charge pending further inquiries after being questioned by detectives about Mr Hooley's murder. |
